Minnesota Nice. Unlike most rumors, this one’s true. But it’s not just the people, although we are nice. It’s the Midwestern mentality you’ve heard about. It’s a prosperous community that shows its success by giving back to the community. It shows in our schools, in our arts, in our public programs.

Can you name other major cities that could support building five new state-of-the-art cultural institutions with world-class education programs all in the same year?

Minneapolis and Saint Paul are progressive cities with an energetic vibe, a whirlwind of creative energy and a plethora of career opportunities.

Terminology about our area+omission (Andy Mickel) - 01/23/2008

The term "midwest" is an east-coast term.  We are in the Heartland of North America! (The geographic center of North America is less than 200 miles from the Twin Cities!).

Arts fine.  What about Sciences and Technology.  We are the 4th largest hi-tech (now bio-tech) area in the United States.

Art Gallery worth seeing! (Susan Garcia) - 05/22/2008

I love the Katherine E. Nash Gallery on the UMN campus. Its always featuring the most interesting shows and there's usually an event where the artist(s) speak about their work. The best events though are the ones with the MFA students' work because they are students who worked really hard to be on top.
